WSSO Primo & Continuo

For String Players in the Primary School, Years 1 to 6

WSSO is for children who are in primary school and play violin, viola, cello or bass. The aim of WSSO is for primary school string players to gain experience and develop the important skills of ensemble playing in a friendly atmosphere with other young players. Concerts are held each term. Rehearsals are held every Saturday during school term at 57 Carwoola St, Bardon:

Rehearsal Times

8:30am until 9:45am for the Primo orchestra

10am until 11:45am for the Continuo orchestra

Membership of the orchestra is by audition – see the Registration page for details.

  • Players are welcome to join for the year or for a term.

The basic standards are as follows:
WSSO Primo – Minimum 1 year learning, basic note reading essential. | WSSO Continuo – Approximately AMEB Grades 1–3
